NECK PAIN DUE TO A MOTOR VEHICLE
ACCIDENT, MVC, MVA
Continued Burlington and Hamilton neck
pain after a car accident is not necessarily a
surprise. Having experienced a motor vehicle
accident impacts present and future neck pain and disability
for the MVA person. In a set of MVA patients, 55% (equally for men
and women) recounted experiencing neck pain
seventeen years later. In a control group, just 29% recounted
neck pain (which varied for men and women: 34% women to 19%
men). (1) Another research project reported
that neck injury as a result of an MVA prompted the patient to suffer with
future neck pain contrasted with those who didn’t
acquire a neck injury in a car accident –
57% risk of future neck pain. (2) Additionally, researchers labelled
those who were in a motor vehicle accident comprise
as a distinctive sub-group of neck pain patients and described
them to be at-risk for continuous neck pain. Those who perceived their
pain and disability to be worse and complained of pain for a longer were also at higher risk of continuous
neck pain. (3) The sooner Spinal Care Clinic can get you feeling better and thinking better about how you are feeling
after a neck injury due to an MVA,
the better.
