A hawthorn tree…more than just a shade tree that
grows in the northern hemisphere. The hawthorn tree’s medicinal status
is spreading! Just as its shade is welcome when it’s hot, the antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antioxidant
properties of hawthorn extract are welcome to reduce
bacteria, oxidation effects and more. Already reported
to have promising benefits for cardiovascular health and
treatment of cardiovascular disorders due to its flavonoid content,
the hawthorn tree’s flavonoid content determined it to be
valuable for more issues including spinal cord injury
and staph infection. (1,2) Spinal Care Clinic establishes
Burlington and Hamilton chiropractic treatment plans with integrated
nutrition to address these issues and more with nutrients like
those from hawthorn when appropriate. The Burlington and Hamilton chiropractic care is very
centered on what your body requires!
FLAVONOIDS IN HAWTHORN LEAVES’ EXTRACT
Hawthorn leaves’ antioxidant and antimicrobial attributes
are expanding its reputation as a popular herbal
medicine plant. Hawthorn’s total phenols, total flavonoid content, and
antioxidant activity tested well in a new study, particularly
for hyperoside, chlorogenic acid, and isoquercetin in hawthorn fruits. (2) Methanol
and ethanol extracts of hawthorn demonstrated high levels of total
flavonoids and polyphenols. The methanol extract of hawthorn had
the strongest antibacterial level against bacteria, particularly
stapholococcus aureus (SA). It harmed the cell wall and membrane
of SA and stopped its enzyme activity, raised
reactive oxygen species, changed gene expression, and
triggered SA cell death. (3) Hawthorn’s methanol extract is potent!
FLAVONOIDS IN CARE OF SPINAL CORD INJURY
Research arranged for a publication date of 2021 reports on powerful therapeutic
benefits of hawthorn leaves’ flavonoids for spine cord injury. Hawthorn leaves
were found to have plenty of total flavonoid species and content. Research reported
that this kind of plenty of
flavonoids can lessen apoptosis (cell death) and utlilize
neuroprotective effects to foster motor function in
rats with spinal cord injury. (4) An interesting step toward possible human benefit and Burlington and Hamilton
back pain reduction.
