Burlington and Hamilton Exercise Helps Cope with Pain and Aging

"If you don't keep going, you're gonna die." How is that for a title to a paper?! Spinal Care Clinic was even startled a bit, but it is true. No matter your age, your pain, your life plan, we all have to keep going forward! This is never more true for middle- to older-age Burlington and Hamilton back and neck pain sufferers. Fortunately, Spinal Care Clinic is here to help.

ANTI-AGING EXERCISE BENEFITS

We all start looking for anti-aging benefits at that certain age! One group of researchers wrote that regular exercise has multi-system anti-aging effects and called for more research to acquire knowledge of just how molecular mediators of exercise benefits work in older folks instead of just looking for pharmaceuticals. (1) Spinal Care Clinic enthusiastically agrees! Walking is amazing! This an important message for all Burlington and Hamilton pain sufferers!

BENEFICIAL DAILY EXERCISE STEPS

Take a walking stroll each day with a goal of 7000 steps. Why? Research. 2,110 black and white men and women and their steps-per-day counts were studied. They sported an accelerometer from 2005 to 2006 and then were followed for a mean of 10.8 years. Their stats were analyzed in 2020 and 2021 to see what, if any, association was made between steps-per-day and all-mortality death risk. This study was a portion of the larger CARDIA (Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults) study. Steps-taken-per-day were defined as “low” (less than 7000), “moderate” (7000-9999) and “high” (more than 10,000). Stepping intensity – stepping rate – played a role, too. Moderate/high step rate was associated with a reduced risk of mortality in black and white women and men in middle-age who walked 7000 steps or more a day compared with those who walked less. (2) Spinal Care Clinic witnesses how walking helps – 7000 steps or not – and urges Burlington and Hamilton chiropractic patients to take walks as best they can. Any walk works!
